Professor Dr. Jason H. Rogers
Director of Interventional Cardiology, University of California Davis Health System
Jason Rogers is an interventional cardiologist at UC Davis Medical Center. His clinical focus is adult structural heart disease, with an emphasis on the management of mitral valvular heart disease using emerging minimally invasive and percutaneous procedures. Dr. Rogers has an active clinical practice focused on the transcatheter management of mitral valve disease and left atrial appendage closure, and has served as a global proctor for numerous structural heart procedures. He has been widely published related to these research interests and has served as invited faculty at national and international meetings.
Professor Dr. Eberhard Grube
University Hospital Bonn Germany
Eberhard Grube is presently Head, Center of Innovative Interventions in Cardiology (CIIC) at the University Bonn in Germany and Consulting Professor of Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. He is internationally recognized for his work in leading innovation in interventional cardiology. Over the past decade he has taken the lead in early clinical testing of drug-eluting stents, percutaneous closure devices, transcatheter valve repair and replacement technologies and treatment of vulnerable plaque. His broad experience and early exposure to a wide range of new interventional therapies not yet available in the U.S. contribute to his unique vision for the future of innovations in cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Azeem Latib
Senior Interventional Cardiologist, San Raffaele Hospital
Azeem Latib is an interventional cardiologist at San Raffaele Hospital and EMO-GVM Centro Cuore Columbus in Milan, Italy. He started his career in South Africa and obtained his specialization in internal medicine and cardiology at Groote Schuur Hospital in the University of Cape Town where he is now honorary senior lecturer. In 2008 he obtained his masters in interventional cardiology in Milan, at San Raffaele Hospital where he is now co-director of research and structural heart disease. Dr. Latib has dedicated his efforts in maintaining both a research and a clinical approach to interventional cardiology. He has authored over 400 publications in peer-reviewed journals and books. His interests and experience lie in complex coronary interventions, structural heart disease and new device innovation. He is actively involved in pre-clinical animal work for coronary and structural interventions. He has also performed a number of first-in-man procedures and is principal investigator in numerous CE-mark and multi-center studies.
Professor Dr. Nicolas van Mieghem
Medical Director of Department of Interventional Cardiology, Erasmus Medical Center
Nicolas van Mieghem obtained his medical and cardiology degrees at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. In 2010, after fellowships in interventional cardiology in Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg Genk, Lenox Hill Hospital and the Erasmus Medical Center, he joined the department of interventional cardiology in the Thoraxcenter, Erasmus Medical Center. He obtained his PhD based upon his research in transcatheter valve therapies and has published approximately 190 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. van Mieghem is currently the Principal Investigator and Steering Committee Member in multiple ongoing international trials evaluating transcatheter valve technologies. He is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) and is currently Medical Director of the department of Interventional cardiology at the Thoraxcenter, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam.
